Plot Outline:A US Fighter pilot's epic struggle of survival after being shot down on a mission over Laos during the Vietnam War।
Christian Bale is truly astonishing on screen and you cannot take your eyes off of him.Because of his sheer genius, he really makes this character his own. His portrayal of fighter pilot Dieger is so self assured, sometimes even comic in some ways that make the character truly likable and real. Because of this you are shocked by a lot of the trauma Dieger and the other prisoners in the Vietnamese prison camp endure at the hands of their captors.Director Werner Herzog keeps the viewer mesmerised by the scenery and makes the viewer squirm with the torture scenes, then keeps us on the edge of our seat where Dieger is consumed by determination to escape.My only problem is how it ends. The ending is way too boisterous and uplifting.hence i give this 7.5-8/10.
